Welcome to AI Literacy for Educators Course. Developed by the National Institute of Education (NIE) in collaboration with AI Singapore, this course aims to equip our educators with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence (AI) and empower them to harness its potential to enhance their teaching and learning practices.

This course package consists of 2 modules - Fundamentals of AI and AI in Education.  

Fundamentals of AI

Module Description: This module introduces what AI is, and how it works. This allows learners to understand the essential components needed for AI to function, which are data and algorithm. In addition, the module covers the principles and applications of the three subfields of artificial intelligence (AI): machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.

AI in Education 

Module Description: This module focuses on the applications of AI in the classroom, AI literacy, and ethics. We demonstrate how AI can be a powerful learning companion for students as well as a useful teaching and learning tool for teachers. These modules also emphasised how important it is for educators to be AI literate, including how they should be able to assess and decide which AI tools are appropriate for their classrooms.
